No. Your assets will transfer in-kind. Any and all costs associated with moving your investments will be reimbursed by LPL Financial. - If I transfer my assets, where will they be held, and how safe will they be?
LPL provides an enormous catalog of services and resources, as well as a long history of financial stability. The LPL Financial SIPC Membership provides account protection up to a maximum of $500,000 per customer, of which $250,000 may be claimed for cash. Additionally, through London Insurers, LPL Financial accounts have additional securities protection to cover the net equity of customer accounts up to an overall aggregate firm limit of $575,000,000 subject to conditions and limitations. The account protection applies when an SIPC member firm fails financially and is unable to meet obligations to securities clients, but it does not protect against losses from the rise and fall in the market value of investments.

Due to industry rules, we were unable to bring certain customer information, including social security numbers, birthdates, and other sensitive information. We were also not legally allowed to disclose our move until now. We will call you and collect this information, and then you will be able to sign the new account and transfer documents electronically or in paper form if requested. Once we have received those signatures, everything transfers automatically in the background over a few business days. - How do I log into my account?
As soon as your account has been transferred to LPL Financial, our office will contact you with instructions to enroll in the online portal where you can enroll in paperless communications. - How is my personal information protected?
LPL Financial uses state of the art security measures that comply with federal law to keep your information protected. LPL’s scale allows them to annually invest $40M per year in cyber security and data privacy technology. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
